Julio Cabrera has been working for 31 years as a Bartender in his native Cuba, Italy, Cancun and Miami. He graduated as a Trainer in Hotel and Tourism in Nicosia, Cypress in 1991.

Julio became a member of the International Bartender Association (I.B.A.) years later and participated in the I.B.A. World Cocktail Competition in Bled, Slovenia in 2002.

After passing the B.A.R  5 days program in New York in 2008, he successfully opened Sra. Martinez,  a Michelle Bernstein restaurant, where he inserted his award winning cocktails in the Menu for four years, being one of the best American bars in 2012.

In  December 2012, Julio joined some other excellent bartenders to open The Regent Cocktail Club in Miami, already nominated one of the Best Hotel Bar in the world,  where he was Managing Partner.

In 2013, Julio Cabrera was in the cover of GQ magazine as Bombay Sapphire and U.S.B.G “America’s Most Imaginative Bartender”  after winning  the national finals in Las Vegas and finishing  Top Five at the global final in London.

Last year Julio opened his dream bar Café La Trova, already nominated one of “The World’s 100 Best Bars” and awarded as “Best American Bar Team”.

Awarded as “American bartender of the year” on 2019, Julio is making a dream come true:  to be a professor of future generation of Bartenders, teaching the Cantinero’s Legacy.
