The judges loved the wine barrel addition but wanted even more red wine accents.

Bright, deep mahogany color. The aromatics are very intense, offering scents of charred oak, baking spices, raisin, date, and dried fruits with supporting notes of vanilla bean, allspice, black cherry, and red berries. The palate substantially agrees with the nose delivering an oak-driven core with supporting flavors of butterscotch, vanilla bean, caramel, marzipan, stone fruit, and fruitcake. The finish is long and lingering. Medium to full-bodied and favorably balanced with a chewy texture.
