The judges loved the length of palate and the careful balance of flavors, as well as the versatility at the bar.

Bright, light chestnut color. The aromatics are very intense, giving scents of chalk, leather, and baking spices with supporting notes of sandalwood, orange peel, and earth. The palate echoes the nose delivering an earth-driven core with flavors akin to leather, black pepper, mineral, and roasted nuts. The finish is long and lingering. Medium to full-bodied with a velvety texture.
