The judges enjoyed the aromatics but wanted a bit more balance on the palate.

Bright, pale amber color. The aromatics are very intense, giving aromas of agave and caramel with supporting notes of five spice and cinnamon. The palate echoes the nose delivering a black pepper-driven core with supporting flavors of vanilla bean, cigar box, and oak. The finish is hot. Light to medium-bodied and out of balance with a lean texture.
