The judges loved the complex nuances found after a water addition but they worried that it may be too assertive.

Bright, deep copper/bronze color. The aromatics are very intense, giving aromas of dark chocolate, toffee, coffee, cedar, and marzipan with supporting notes of maple syrup, smoked meat, and pecan. The palate is more intense than the nose delivering a baking spices-driven core with supporting flavors of black pepper, roasted nuts, and honey. The finish is long and lingering. Full-bodied and favorably balanced with a voluptuous texture.
