The judges did note the Limousin Oak addition here that brings a bit of a French accent to this classic Bourbon.

Brilliant, dark mahogany color. The aromatics are very intense, offering aromas of oak, nutmeg, and red cherry with supporting notes of walnut, apricot, baked apple, and baking spices. The palate is more intense than the nose delivering an oak-driven core with supporting flavors of gingerbread, vanilla bean, crème brulee, and allspice. The finish is long and lingering. Full-bodied and favorably balanced with a chewy texture.
