The judges loved the spice notes but would have liked to have seen more elongated flavors.

Bright, medium mahogany color. The aromatics are very intense, giving aromas of treacle, dark chocolate, charred oak, and baking spices with supporting notes of vanilla bean, black tea, and gingerbread. The palate echoes the nose delivering an oak-driven core with supporting flavors of baking spices, raisin, roasted nuts, date, caramel, vanilla bean, and apricot. The finish is long and lingering. Medium to full-bodied and favorably balanced with a rich, silky texture.
